It features gorillas, hippos, meerkats, colobus monkeys, zebras and much more, including an aviary just packed full of birds. If you want to get a close-up look at some animals from Africa, this walking trail is the thing for you. If you need a nice, cool break from the Florida heat, this is one of your best options in the park fortunately the show’s great, to boot. A Bug’s Life remains one of Pixar’s funniest movies, and that humor shines through in this show. It’s similar to the Muppet*Vision 3D show at Hollywood Studios, only starring less famous characters. The 3D show combines all manner of filmed and live special effects to create an immersive experience that everybody Disney fan should take in at least once. The lurching, speeding jeep and oversized robot lizards make this a ride that all ages can thrill along to.Ī Bug’s Life, one of Pixar’s most underrated movies, has had a showcase nestled inside Animal Kingdom’s central icon, the Tree of Life, since the park first opened in 1998.
It may not be as satisfying for adults as the Indiana Jones rides, due in part to an uninspired story featuring Phylicia Rashad and Wallace Langham, but the bounty of dinosaur Audio-Animatronics almost makes up for that. The extravagant Pandora-The World of Avatar expansion opened in 2017, adding a veneer of alien splendor to what was already the most beautifully designed park at Walt Disney World.
